WHITE HORSES of the CAMARGUE
3 days/3 nights
1st-3rd October 2010 FULL
3-5 June 2011
The Camargue: wild, untamed lake and marshland on the coast of southern France - an area that in many ways seems to have more in common with Argentina or Spain. Famous for its beautiful wild white horses that roam the area, the Camargue is a haven for any lover of the wild. This is a 3 day photo adventure that gives you a thoroughly unique experience – photographing these wild horses running together through the warm waters of the Mediterranean, through the lakes and marshes, and nurturing their foals in fields warmed by the sun. This is not an experience you can buy ‘off the peg’, but rather one especially created for lovers of photography and wildlife, to capture these moments that will stay with you for a lifetime.

ZANZIBAR! THE SPICE ISLANDS
3rd-10th December 2011
NEW! A brand new 7 day and 7 night photo adventure to the legendary and incredibly beautiful isands of Zanzibar, off the coast of Tanzania in East Africa. There are few places in the world where even the mention of the name conjures up such a delicious concoction of intrigue, romance, excitement and mystery. Zanzibar Island, the Spice Island, is characterised by endless, breathtakingly beautiful palm lined sandy beaches with fringing coral reefs, and the magic of its historic capital Stone Town - said to be the only functioning ancient town in East Africa. Join me here in this paradise, relatively untouched by the large tourism of other African coastal environments, where from our base in the luxurious and exclusive beach lodge Shooting Star on the east coast of the island we photograph the powder white beaches, the palm trees, the stunning triangular-sailed fishing dhows, the mangrove forests and fishing villages, the people, the colourful houses and doorways and wonderful harbour in Stone Town itself. This is to be an experience you will never forget on an island you will want to come back to....
Fly to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (direct flights from most large airports).
Price 2999 euros per person. This includes all meals, 7 nights 4 star hotel accommodation, flight transfers to and from Zanzibar from Dar es Salaam.

SPECIAL WORKSHOP - STILT FISHING HUTS of the GIRONDE
A very popular 3 day workshop concentrating on the Charente Maritime/Gironde estuary in western France which links the city of Bordeaux to the Atlantic ocean. Along the northern bank of the estuary are hundreds of small fishing huts on stilts, a perfect opportunity for some great photography. We shall shoot these together on the first morning, close to the historic village of Talmont sur Gironde, then spend a little time looking round the village, named as one of the most beauiful in France. There are also traditional wooden fishing boats, fishermens houses in narrow streets and a mariners church to photograph. In the late afternoon we shall shoot the fabulous troglodyte cliff dwellings, once occupied by smugglers and pirates, and fishing huts with nets at Meschers sur Gironde, and stay there as the sun starts to set. We shall be staying in the very chic, boutique B&B 'The Blue Sturgeon' run by English artist and chef Robert Stansfied, who will no doubt tempt us with caviar and wine from the local area. On Sunday we will shoot wooden boats in the marshlands, rows of vines running down to the cliffs in the local vineyards, the lighthouse in the sand dunes at La Coubre, and some more of the stilt huts at sunset to round off the day. Arrival Friday/departure Monday. Pick-ups from Bordeaux airport. 5 people only.
699 Euros including 3 nights top quality boutique B&B + breakfast

VENICE WORKSHOP
3rd-5th December 2010
16th-18th March 2011
3 days/4 nights
By very popular demand I'm arranging more opportunities to photograph the iconic and beautiful city of Venice in the north of Italy. We arrive in Venice on Thursday, staying in the historic 700 year old Hotel Cavaletto right on St Mark's Square, overlooking the Baceo Orseolo where the gondolas are moored overnight. Then from Friday to Sunday we photograph this fascinating and breathtaking city, starting early to avoid the crowds and get the best of the light, returning to the hotel to eat a hearty breakfast whilst watching the gondoliers prepare their famous vessels for the day. We then set out on a discovery of the real Venice, down the side streets and canals, where a photo opportunity is waiting at every turn. We eat lunch together, perhaps in a sun filled square accompanied by the sound of accordions, then take some free time to wander around the markets, museums and galleries. We then meet later in the afternoon and shoot together some of the famous landmarks - the Bridge of Sighs, the Rialto Bridge, or the home of Casanova. We will also visit some of the other islands - Burano with its breathtaking beauty and multi-coloured fishermen's houses, the Lido with its long sand beach and lovely old hotels. There will be time for one to one tuition and appraisals, and guidance with editing in Lightroom and Photoshop CS4 where necessary.
A trip of a lifetime that you will never forget. 8 PEOPLE MAXIMUM
PRICE 1499 Euros including hotel, breakfast and all guidance & tuition.
2399 Euros for a couple sharing a room with both parties participating in the workshop.
For extra nights, non-participating partners etc please contact me.

CHINA - LI RIVER PHOTO TOUR 24th- 29th MARCH 2011
5 Day/6 Night Photo Workshop & Tour. A brand new photo tour concentrating on the area around the unbelievably beautiful and atmospheric Li River in the Guilin/Yangshuo area of China. We start the tour in Guilin (which means 'forest of sweet osmanthus') in the Guanxi Province of China. After an evening briefing and meal, and a good night's sleep, we set off to Longji to photograph the incredible terrassed rice fields, with their scuplted curved banks set in misty valleys. On our return to Guilin we take a riverboat down the Li River to the mystical and incredible Yangshuo, our home for the next 4 nights. Yangshuo, nestled in a valley surrounded by the wonderfully shaped karst mountains, the Li River winding through the landscape like a serpent. Over the next few days we will shoot at dawn and dusk, the river itself with the backdrop of the mountains through the mist - the famous cormorant fishermen as they work, water buffalo paddling in the shallows, riverside villages and temples. Our hotel is situated right on the banks of the river - open your bedroom window and there in front of you is a landscape that many have said is the most beautiful in the world.
